Medacom College Health Information Technology Program Now Offered Online

Medacom Online is excited to announce the newest addition to its online programming. As of 2020, students will be able to complete their degree in Health Information Technology (HIT) through the online campus.

Health information professionals have skills and competencies in health data management, information policy, information systems, and administrative and clinical workflows, and Medacom College’s HIT program prepares students for employment in any healthcare setting.

Amy Robbins, MHSA, RHIA will be serving as the new HIT Online Program Director/Associate Professor for the online campus. Amy has been employed at Baker College for 20 years and has received re-accreditation for ten years serving as HIT Program Director for the on-ground program at the Clinton Township campus.

“I am excited that Amy Robbins will become part of the online program director team,” said Joanna Palmer, Director of Academic Affairs for Baker College Online and Center for Graduate Studies. “She has many years of service and experience both in the field, in the associated professional organizations, and at the College.”

Catherine Ward, MBA, RHIA, will be serving as the HIT Faculty/Clinical Coordinator for the online campus. Catherine has been employed at Baker College for 11 years, working from the Flint campus. “Cathy’s years of service to the program, commitment to quality teaching, and dedication to our students made her a clear pick for this position,” said Palmer. “We are all excited to see how the HIT program transitions to the online format, and with this team, we have set ourselves up for success!”
